Here is how to change JotNot's settings so that it can scan color documents:

  1. Start a new scan in JotNot, and snap the first picture
  2. Adjust corners as needed, and tap "Process" in the upper right
  3. On the preview screen (which shows "Save" in the upper right), you'll see a button saying "Document" in the lower right (unless you've changed it in the past to a different setting, but in any case it's in the lower right).  Tap on it to bring up the list of choices for how to process the image.

Here are what the various processing options mean:

  • Document -- for black-and-white documents
  • Color -- for documents that are mostly black text on white paper, but they have some color elements, like a logo or colored text.
  • Photo -- for full-color documents
  • Whiteboard/Blackboard -- for scanning whiteboards and blackboards
  • No enhancement -- for no image processing whatsoever, just saving the preview image as is (though the image is still cropped if you set the rectangle on the previous screen anywhere other than the outer corners of the image).

You'll see the output of the processing in the preview screen, so you can try out any of the different options to see what they look like before saving.JotNot will remember your setting for future scans.

You can also change this setting in JotNot's Settings page, under "Enhancement" in the "DOCUMENT" section.
