This is of course very frustrating, but fortunately it is almost always an easy fix. Documents will come out looking very blurry if you have the "Paper Size" setting set incorrectly, often to "Business Card" size when the document is actually US Letter (8.5" x 11") or A4. With the wrong setting for Paper Size, JotNot doesn't save enough pixels to capture your document accurately.

You can change this setting for future scans as follows:

1. Open JotNot to the Home screen

2. Tap on the Settings button

3. In the DOCUMENT section, tap on "Default Paper Size"

4. Set this to "Letter" for US Letter-sized documents (8.5" x 11"), or A4, or the most appropriate option for your document.  The "Auto" setting means that JotNot will try to guess the right size based on how the document looks in the image, but beware that it can sometimes get it wrong, especially if you take the picture from an angle instead of directly overhead.

You can also change this while scanning.  Any change you make will be remembered for future scans.  To do this, snap a picture for a scan.  On the screen where you adjust the corners of the document, you'll see a "Paper:" button at the bottom.  Tap on that to select a new paper size option.

Using either of the above options to change the default for future scans will not change the paper size of any existing scans.  Here's how to change the paper size for an existing scan:

1. Open the document in JotNot

2. Tap on the first page to bring up a single-page preview

3. Tap "Enhance" in the upper right, to start a re-scan of the page from its original image

4. Tap the "Paper:" control at the bottom of the screen to bring up your list of options, and select the right paper size

5. Continue adjusting scanning settings as needed, and save the page

6. Repeat steps 2-5 for each page
