TO TRANSFER FROM AN OLD iOS DEVICE TO A NEW ONE:

When you get a new device, Apple recommends that you transfer content (including your JotNot Fax account information) by doing a backup and restore.  This should transfer all your apps and all your data to your new device.  Here are Apple's instructions on how to do that:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201269

This will transfer ALL of your files and content from your old phone to your new one.  If you'd prefer to transfer just your JotNot scans, you can use JotNot's export and import options instead.  First, make sure you have the latest version of the app.

In JotNot on your old device:

1) Tap the "Settings" button (the gear on the top left of the main screen)

2) Scroll down and tap "Export Backup" under BACKUP AND FILE SHARING

3) Choose the location to save the backup

This creates a backup file (bjot) that you can import on this or other devices to restore your documents.  If you choose a cloud account, your backup should be available to restore on your new phone as soon as the cloud account syncs.  Skip to step 4 below.

If you choose to export via iTunes, you'll need to plug your phone into a computer via USB cable, and copy your backup file to your computer via iTunes.  Here's Apple's documentation on doing these transfers via iTunes:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201301

You'll then need to plug in your new phone via USB cable, and copy the backup file from your computer to the new phone via iTunes. The same article above provides instructions on how to copy in the reverse direction.

To import, in JotNot on your new device:

4) Tap the "Settings" button (the gear on the top left of the main screen)

5) Scroll down and tap "Import (bjot or jot) file" under BACKUP AND FILE SHARING

6) Choose the location from where to import the backup

Thank you for using JotNot the first PDF scanner app for iOS!
